The Lakes Committee held their 11th Annual Kids Fishing Derby on June 15, 2024.  Committee members present were Jim Furno (Chairman), Brendan O'Sullivan (Secretary) and Doug Dow (Acting President of the Board).  Unlike last year, we had spectacular weather.  It was sunny with 80 degree weather and a NNW cooling wind of 10 mph. 

We came prepared with plenty of water, treats (each contestant received a goody bag) and prizes (gift cards).  We had a record number of attendees - 22 contestants and an equal number of parents/adults.  Twenty three fish were caught and ranged in size from a 4" Sunny to a 12.5" Bass.  The winners in each category are as follows:

4-7:      Hannah Barrow - 7 inch Sunny

8-11:    Mason French - 7 inch Sunny

12-14:  Brady Babcock - 12.5 inch Bass

15-17:  Anthony Booth - 6.5 inch Sunny

This year the event was held at our smaller lake, Sprint, and it doesn't seem to have as many different breeds of fish, but it has plenty of Sunny's and Bass.
